Douglas Maxwell was born in 1974 in Girvan, a small town on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland.    He is the author of many plays including Decky Does A Bronco, Our Bad Magnet, Variety, If Destroyed True and Melody.   His work for young people includes Helmet, Beyond (with Nicola McCartney) and Mancub.   His plays have been performed in translation in Germany, Norway, Hong Kong and South Korea, where Our Bad Magnet is in the midst of a three year run.   All of his plays are published by Oberon Books.
