Hello. Time’s creeping on apace. This is my last week in London and I’m tidying things up here before I come up to the festival. Like working the Pink Floyd concert in Hyde Park (a bonus of working it is being able to see Pink Floyd AND watch the world cup games.) and finishing off in call centres. How I’ll miss that place…

Bought a copy of Midsummer Night’s Dream and its been following me everywhere – tube, trains, parks and Ealing Studios where I was working with students at the Met Film School housed there. The studios are brilliant – real Alec Guinness territory. They employ actors so the students learn how to work with them on set. Its fascinating. The biggest problem the students is communication – they are technically gifted but dunno how to talk to actors to get them to do what they want. Which causes frustration and wastes time. The advantage of working with a company I’ve worked with before (Nonsenseroom) is that we’ve established lines of comunication and have a shared language. And when i trust the director and am be happy to be led by him then the results are great. This is going to be fascinating this time because the language is so important and densely explicit.

Went to the Globe to see “Titus Andronicus” last week. It was brilliant. Restored faith. The acting was powerful and sublime. The play is full of blood and atrocities and even stages a wild pig hunt. Standing in the pit with 700 others we got moved around by actors who stood on steel towers to speak to the audience. There was a victory procession of the returning Titus. Its incredible and did the play full justice and thats the standard I want to live up to. Thankfully I’m blessed to have the chance with Midsummer Night’s Dream at the chapel.

I’m getting the bus up on sunday. Its a good place to read and think, especially at 3am in service stations. You see people you’d never otherwise see. A unique atmosphere.

OK thats all for now. The next time I write I’ll be in Scotland. Can’t wait.
